Hi,
There are two scenarios:
1. I try to start with the original workspace, with the imported big project. In this case I get only the splash screen, and I have to kill the process.
2. I change the workpace at start, that means I have an empty workspace without any projects. In this case I get the Errors with file types, and there are no ways to create a normal cobol project. I send you 3 pictures.

P.S.:
I find it interesting that MF sells these ancient eclipse version.
This is 32 bit, and not easy to install on a 64 bit linux. You can not
automatically install from a linux 64 bit repository the native 32 bit packages.
What is all this!? 
It tooks several days for me until eclipse is started without error.
In the documentation, there are not a word about 32 bit packages.
